The board plans to consider the extension for the 2014-2015 school year at its May 12 meeting.
“We are confident that we have made the proper choice at this time for the students, staff and community,” Board President Rosemarie Eller said. “Mr. Connors will ensure continuity and stability as he continues to move the district forward. The search for a permanent replacement will begin in the fall.”
Connors took over at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year for Christopher Clouet, who took a job as superintendent of the Tarrytowns schools. Connors previously served as White Plains School Superintendent from 2002 to 2009.
Before that he served as Superintendent in Danbury, Conn. Bloomington, Minn. And Woonsocket, RI. He attended Springfield College undergraduate, and holds a Master’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Studies from Harvard.
He also participated in the Urban Superintendents Program at Harvard.
