White Plains' Berkeley College Appoints New Dean

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Berkeley College has appointed Beth M. Castiglia, Ph.D., dean of the Larry L. Luing School of Business.

In this role, Castiglia will maintain academic standards, oversee the hiring of faculty and work with other deans to support the mission and values of Berkeley College.

“As dean, Dr. Castiglia will provide academic and administrative leadership for the Larry L. Luing School of Business and further curriculum development that engages Berkeley College students so they can achieve success in the fields of accounting, business administration, fashion merchandising and management, financial services, information technology management, international business, management and marketing communications," Marianne P. Vakalis, Ed.D., Berkeley College provost said in a statement. "She also has a deep commitment to the importance of diversity and global learning in the Berkeley College curriculum and their relevance to career success,”

Castiglia most recently served as dean and professor at the School of Business at Felician College in Lodi, N.J., where she developed six degree programs at the undergraduate, master and doctoral levels, including preparation for launching the college’s first self-paced, multimodal Doctor of Business Administration program.

Castiglia’s teaching experience includes faculty assignments at Ramapo College and Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also served as a research assistant in economics at Goldman Sachs and Co.

Castiglia holds a Ph.D. in applied management and decision sciences from Walden University in Minneapolis, an master's degree in economics from Pace University and a bachelor's degree in economics from St. Peter’s College in New Jersey.
