WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Westchester County Association is looking for a worthy young professional to bestow a scholarship on.
The association announced they would provide a scholarship for the Leadership Westchester program, which is administered by Volunteer New York.
“This is a chance of a lifetime for those who are interested in community leadership and advancing their careers,” said Bill Mooney, president & CEO of the Westchester County Association.
Leadership Westchester is a nine-month curriculum designed to sharpen leadership abilities, strengthen communication skills, and prepare professionals for tomorrow’s positions of influence.
The scholarship covers the $2,750 tuition for this signature program of Volunteer New York!, which provides participants with an understanding of how nonprofits work, and exposes them to leadership concepts taught at the nation’s business schools.
“We are committed to developing talented leaders in Westchester County,” Mooney said. “This program enables young professionals to learn and grow as individuals, be a part of the next generation of business leadership in the region, and have an even greater impact on their surrounding community."
Applications for the WCA’s Young Professionals Group Scholarship for Leadership Westchester are due by September 16. A completed program application may be found at volunteernewyork.org/leadership and should be submitted to David Severence at firstname.lastname@example.org, with a copy to Julia Emrick at email@example.com.
