Junior Peter Manthey and sophomore Katie Mahoney attended the Health Occupations Students of America -- or HOSA -- International Leadership Conference, in Nashville in June.

The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science technology education students.

Manthey competed in the Health Care Issues event and Mahoney in Veterinary Science.

"The HOSA conference can't be compared to anything I have ever experienced," Mahoney said. "It is immensely humbling and truly awe-inspiring to be surrounded by some of the brightest minds of our generation, knowing that these are people who will devote their entire lives to healing."
