Tisch Says She Won't Seek New Term As State Regents Chancellor

Merryl Tisch, chancellor of the state Board of Regents, will not seek a new term when her current one expires in March, according to a report in PoliticoNewYork.com.

Tisch, who has served on the board since 1996, has drawn criticism over her role in implementing Common Core standards as well as changes in teacher evaluation, PoliticoNewYork reported.

Tisch announced her decision Monday morning in Albany, according to PoliticoNewYork.
