Subjective Data Affects State Teacher Evaluations

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Subjective data is having a negative impact on teacher evaluations in Westchester County and throughout all of New York, according to LoHud.com.

The Scarsdale district, which has a sterling reputation didn't have a single teacher rate as "highly effective" while Pleasantville had 99 percent of its teachers earn that distinction, LoHud.com reported. 

Experts examining the process say the problem stems from having local measures factor so heavily into the teacher evaluation process, LoHud.com said.
