WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Archbishop Stepinac High School senior Christian Prato of White Plains has won Westchester Broadway Theatre's (WBT) Bob Fitzsimmons Scholarship for his outstanding contributions to the school's acclaimed Drama Club.

Prato's recent notable achievement was directing "12 Angry Men," the inaugural production of Stepinac Drama Club's new Theater Lab. He has also acted in Stepinac productions. Prato will further his theater arts studies when he starts classes this fall at DePaul University in Chicago.

The scholarship is named after a Stepinac alumnus, Fitzsimmons, who was an actor, producer, writer and director of shows and had served as WBT's public relations director. The award is in the amount of $1,000 After he passed away at the age of 37, WBT's owners-- Bill Stutler and Bob Funking along with staff members, family and friends--established the annual gift. It is awarded to college-bound seniors who have excelled in the theatre arts programs while attending Stepinac.

Since the scholarship was established, more than $25,000 has been awarded to Stepinac students.
