Stepinac Musical Earns Record 18 Metro Nominations

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Stepinac High School's drama club is at the top of the class.

The drama club received a record 18 Metro Award nominations for its production of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." The awards will be held on June 12 at SUNY Purchase.

Freshman Jeremy Fuentes, who played Quasimodo, received a nomination for Best Actor while Gabbie Sansone, a senior at Lakeland High School who played Esmerelda, was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. Anthony Pietrolongo was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for playing Archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo.

The play also received nominations for featured ensemble member, cameo, featured ensemble group, duet, chorus, stage crew, direction, musica direction, choreography, costume design, lightning design, scenic design, lobby display and student critic. 

Anthony Albanese, the student stage member, was nominated by his teachers for a technical merit recognition.
