PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University Dean for Students Lisa Bardill-Moscaritolo, Ph.D., was chosen as a prestigious Jefferson Award National Champion recipient in a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Bardill-Moscaritolo was honored for her two-decade career that is “dedicated to her support of and engagement in community service.”

“Each year, we gather in our nation’s capital to recognize civic leaders who have exemplified the spirit of public service,” said Joseph N. Sanberg, chairman of the Jefferson Awards Foundation.

“By doing so, we honor the millions of other Americans who offer their time, their talents and their resources to the selfless cause of making others’ lives better. No matter the size of the effort, making a positive difference in another person’s life is a cause for celebration, and it brings great satisfaction to all of us to see the Jefferson Awards Foundation’s message of public service be such an integral part of community-building across the country.” “I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this prestigious honor than Dean Lisa Bardill-Moscaritolo,” said Pace University President Stephen J. Friedman. “She loves her students and works tirelessly to develop enriching, student life experiences that help each individual achieve his or her potential and make meaningful contributions to society.” As a student affairs professional and educator, Bardill-Moscaritolo has worked to make service and community engagement an integral part of the student learning experience.

Bardill-Moscaritolo is the driving force behind Pace Makes a Difference Day when more than 350 students, faculty and staff spend a day volunteering in the community.

She is the founder of the Setters Leadership and Service House (SLH) at Pace. SLH students volunteer weekly, participate in workshops, and take a one-credit class based on the Social Change Model of Leadership and Servant Leadership practices. She also teaches courses at Pace including one on Leadership and Sustainability Practices.
