NY Spent $21K Per Student, Local Districts Funded Most Of Cost In 2013-14

ALBANY, N.Y. – Analysis from the New York State Association of School Business Officials shows that the state spent $21,812 per student for the 2013-14 school year, with local districts fronting the majority of the costs, reports lohud.

Local school districts covered about 54.5 percent in education spending, and the state’s share was about 41.4 percent, or $9,026 per student, according to the report.

Total spending for education for the 2013-14 school year in New York was over $60 billion, reports lohud.
