ALBANY, N.Y. – Analysis from the New York State Association of School Business Officials shows that the state spent $21,812 per student for the 2013-14 school year, with local districts fronting the majority of the costs, reports lohud .
Local school districts covered about 54.5 percent in education spending, and the state’s share was about 41.4 percent, or $9,026 per student, according to the report.
Total spending for education for the 2013-14 school year in New York was over $60 billion, reports lohud.
