Mary McDonough Named Provost At Berkeley College

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Mary McDonough has been named Provost at Berkeley College effective July 1. She will serve as the chief academic officer for the college which has nine campuses, including one in White Plains.

McDonough joined the Berkeley College faculty in 2000, and has instructed in general business subjects. She also served as vice president, Academic Affairs, for Berkeley College in White Plains and as vice president, Academic Affairs, for the school's Dover Business College. Additionally, she has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at the College of Saint Elizabeth, Seton Hall University, the University of Nebraska and Upper Iowa University.

McDonough holds a doctorate in human resource development from the University of Nebraska, a master's degree in human resource management from Upsala College, and a bachelor of science degree in political science from Ramapo College.

“Dr. McDonough’s varied background, as well as her in-depth knowledge and appreciation of the Berkeley College community, and her passion for our students and faculty, make her especially qualified to become our Provost at Berkeley College,” said Michael J. Smith, president of Berkeley. 

Founded in 1931, Berkeley College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and enrolls approximately 8,000 students  in its baccalaureate and associate degree and certificate programs.

In addition to the White Plains campus it has locations in Midtown Manhattan and Brooklyn, and  six in New Jersey.
