Harrison Students Recognized For Excellence In Italian

HARRISON, N.Y. -- Louis M. Klein Middle School and Harrison High School students who study Italian were recently honored for their excellence in a ceremony at Antonio Meucci Lodge as part of Italian Heritage Month.

The following are the students who were honored and their teachers: Ava Petrillo – Level 2 - Christina Zaccagnino Juliana Sica – Level 2 - Elvira Gibaldi George Williams – Level 2 - Enzina Zaino Attilio Crupi – Level 2 - Dana Giuliano Quinn Perini – Italian 3 – Maria Conte Olivia DeLuca – Italian 4 – Cristina DiStasio Allison Karantzis – Italian 5/IB – Maria Battipaglia

The students, whose academic experience levels range from Level 2 through Level 5/International Baccalaureate studies, were nominated by their teachers for their love of and dedication to Italian language and culture. These 7th through 11th graders were honored along with other outstanding students from public and private schools in  Westchester County that offer Italian studies as a Language Other Than English. The Antonio Meucci Lodge is a member of The Order Sons of Italy in America, the nation’s oldest and largest Italian American service and advocacy organizations.
