The proposed $31 million budget was defeated on May 21 by a count of 236-210 in a low turnout of voters. Those who wish to register to vote may do so in person at the School District Clerks's Office at Alexander Hamilton High School by June 13.

Critics if the budget say the district should have made adjustments to lower the proposed budget before a revote, while those in favor hope those who did not come out for the first vote will support the budget.

A yes vote means a budget-to-budget increase of 3.49 percent over the 2012-2013 budget and a tax hike of 4.28 percent or $23.35 per $1,000 of assessed value. The average property can expect to pay a projected annual Increase of $315.

If the budget fails, the district will revert to a state mandated austerity budgets with across the board cuts.
