WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The Bristal at White Plains, an assisted living facility, held its grand opening Thursday afternoon.
The 148-room facility opened in November and is nearly 40 percent full. The Bristal at White Plains features 32 apartments for residents who need memory care. All of its residents have access to a wellness program, onsite doctor visits, medication supervision, bathing and dressing assistance and a registered nurse on duty, officials said.
“Not only does this assisted living community bring top notch care and quality of life to our residents, but it also brings jobs to Westchester,” Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino said in a statement.
The Bristal is on 305 North St., the old site of St. Agnes Hospital.
“This community is a wonderful example of how an asset can be re-used and reinvigorated in a way that fills a specific need and that is compatible with its surroundings,” Mayor Thomas Roach said.
The Engel Burman Group, developers of The Bristal, are now building a second community in Westchester slated to open in 2014 in Armonk.
