Prerequisites for the position include a written test and a physical fitness assessment, according to the department. Interviews, polygraph testing and a full background investigation also will be required.
The Wilton Police Department, which currently has about 45 full-time officers on staff, is seeking people to be involved with several police units, including the SCUBA unit, the K-9 unit, the Accident Reconstruction Team, the Regional Emergency Response Team, the Police Bike Patrol and more.
In addition to the $59,000 to $86,000 salary, which covers a range for a patrol officer through a top patrol officer, the department offers a 401K, 457 deferred compensation, competitive benefits and college incentives.
