Josephine 'Josie' Nigri, 91, Lyndhurst Resident

LYNDHURST, N.J -- Josephine "Josie" (Buonomo) Nigri, of Lyndhurst, died on Tuesday, March 8. She was 91.

Nigri graduated from Hoboken High School and worked as a secretary. "Josie devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren," according to information from the funeral home. "She loved to read, put together jigsaw puzzles, cook for her family and babysit all the children in her family."

She is survived by her children, Rosanne and her husband Robert Emery, Anthony and his wife Catherine Nigri, and Patricia and her husband Edward Raimo; grandchildren Jeff, Laura, Michelle, Kristen, Michael and Edward; grandchildren John Michael, Lindsey, Dean, James, Brielle, Scarlett and Grace; and many nieces and nephews.

Nigri was predeceased by her husband, Michael, and her parents, Carlo and Rose Buonomo.

Visiting hours will be from 4:30-8:30 on Thursday, March 10, at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd., in Lyndhurst. The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 11, from the funeral home, with a 10 a.m. funeral mass at St. Michael's Church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
