Daily Voice Leaders: Trump Candidacy 'Terrible for America' Says Pataki

George Pataki made news during the Republican presidential campaign when he became the only candidate in a crowded Republican field to say he would not support Donald Trump if he's the party's nominee.

In a Daily Voice exclusive interview at the Manhattan offices of Chadbourne & Park LLP, Pataki sat down in with Daily Voice CEO and Founder Carll Tucker, for a conversation on the current state of American politics.

When discussing the possible nomination of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Pataki said "for the county, it would be a terrible thing."

"I am not a fan of Donald Trump, the politician," Pataki, a Peekskill native and Garrison resident said of the billionaire Bedford estate owner who runs golf clubs in Briarcliff Manor and Hopewell Junction. "It would be unfortuante for the party and our country."

"That being said" Pataki goes on to say, "I think he could win if given the nomination because the two Democratic leaders are both flawed as well."

On Tuesday, Pataki gave his endorsement to Marco Rubio.

Discussing an array of topics, Pataki shared his experiences campaigning across the nation, his thoughts on Trump, the changing mindset of the American voter, and the problems and pitfalls facing New York state and its residents.
