Police said officers responded for a report of an assault at 620 E. Main St. After conducting an investigation, it was found that Jenkins assaulted the woman, according to police. Jenkins was not on the scene when police arrived, and he turned himself in at police headquarters on Tuesday, police said.
Jenkins was charged with third-degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor. He was processed and arraigned by a judge. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 15, at 6 p.m.
