Arthur R. Myers, 93, Longtime Ossining Resident

OSSINING, N.Y. - Arthur R. Myers, a long time Ossining resident, died Oct. 8. He was 93.

Myers was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Manhattan, son of Arthur J. and Margaret Dowg. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He worked as a corrections officer at Sing Sing Prison. He also worked for Pace University and the N.Y. Central Railroad. He was a member of Ossining Post 506 American Legion and the Moose Lodge.

Myers is survived by nephews, Russell (Victoria) Myers and Robert Palmer; a niece; a grandnephew and grand niece; sister-in-law, Florence Myers; and cousin. He was predeceased by his wife, Clare Ann Furnaro; and brother, Russell Myers.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532. Services at the funeral home Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
