Hastings Spikes Croton in Volleyball Opener

The Yellow Jackets took a convincing 25-16 opening set victory and the second nip-and-tuck set 27-26 before Croton recovered an took the third set 26-24. Hastings then closed out the match with a 25-22 fourth-set win.

Emma Sweeting led the way at net with 19 kills followed by Erica Freed with 10 kills. Jasmine Padilla provided the playmaking with 18 assists over the four-set match. Mary Dailey added two kills and four assists. Otivich enjoyed the win and quickly looked forward to the Jackets' next challenge.

"Ardsley has a great program and are always tough competitors who are well coached," Otivich said. "We are looking forward to the challenge."
