The session reportedly lasted more than two hours after Clinton took a motorcade from her Chappaqua home. Clinton attended the session alone. It was conducted by staffers from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Clinton was then scheduled to head to the Hamptons later in the day Saturday. She is expected to attend a total of nine fundraisers there through Tuesday, starting in Sag Harbor on Saturday night.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump received his first intelligence briefing 10 days ago at Federal Plaza in downtown Manhattan.

Presidential candidates in both major political parties receive the intelligence briefings periodically between the conventions and the presidential elections every four years in a practice established by President Harry Truman.
