DiFiore ran uncontested for her position, and will serve her third four-year term since being elected to the position in 2006. During her victory speech, she praised her fellow Democrats, family and volunteers.

“[The Democrats] have some good momentum going right now, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be here. A lot of hard work goes into these campaigns, and I can’t thank the voters and residents of Westchester for their support,” she said. “I thank them for their trust and the opportunity for a third term as Westchester County District Attorney.”

As of 10 p.m. on Tuesday, nearly 10,000 residents had cast their vote for DiFiore, despite it being an uncontested race. According to DiFiore, including primary and general elections, this was her seventh successful run.

“Each of our campaigns has served as a model for how a campaign should be run,” she added. “We try to do things the right way, and to set an example.”

During her speech, Democratic supporters of County Executive hopeful Noam Bramson could be heard yelling out voting numbers while watching a nearby television. DiFiore said that despite running without an opponent, she would continue to give her all in office.

“When I became the district attorney in 2006, I made a promise to work hard every day and to make sure that we are doing our best work with the most integrity possible,” she said. “Lets keep the momentum going.”
