WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The Westchester County Working Families Party leaders have endorsed three incumbent candidates for the White Plains Common Council.

Incumbents John Kirkpatrick, John Martin and Beth Smayda were endorsed, the party announced.

The White Plains Common Council has six members, each elected to a four-year term.

The party endorsed New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson for Westchester county executive.

“As mayor of New Rochelle, Noam has shown a deep commitment to the issues that the Working Families Party fights for: transparent government, affordable housing, and creating green jobs,” said Pat Welsh, chair of the Westchester Working Families Party.  “He will make an excellent county executive for working and middle class families in Westchester County.”

The Working Families Party is considered a grassroots progressive political party.  More than 10,000 voters voted on the Working Families Party line in Westchester County in 2012, according to a news release.
