Woman Charged With Stealing Jewelry From White Plains Store

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A Bedford Hills woman was charged with stealing $1,275 worth of costume jewelry from Neiman Marcus at The Westchester mall in White Plains, police said.

Store security told police they saw Lynn Spiess, 57, walk into the costume jewelry department Sunday afternoon and take three chains, two worth $395 and one worth $485. She then hid them in a Louis Vuitton handbag and tried to leave the store, according to the police report. She was apprehended by store security and held until police arrived.

Spiess was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.
