White Plains Worker Charged With Stealing Gift Cards

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A Nordstrom employee made several fake returns at her job and took $1,303.76 in refunds from May to September, police said.

Laura Joy Serigo, 55, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

A Nordstrom loss-prevention officer told police Serigo worked at the store and had been taking gift cards as refunds for items she had never purchased, the police report says. The first reported incident was May 28 and the on last Sept. 12, the loss prevention officer, who had been investigating the thefts, told police.
Serigo was held for arraignment.
