WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Denise Jones and Tannika Johnson walked into H&M in the White Plains Galleria on Saturday afternoon pushing a stroller they would later use to hide $228.30 worth of clothing they tried to steal from the store, according to a police report.
Store security told police Jones, of Peekskill, and Johnson, of Poughkeepsie, each took seven items of H&M clothing from a display in the women's department and hid them in a black bag they were carrying on top of the stroller. Security stopped them and held them until police arrived.
Both were charged with petit larceny, a class "A" misdemeanor and released on $150 bail with a return date set for Tuesday. Jones's brother picked up her child.
