WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. The White Plains Department of Public Works reported Sunday that someone knocked the sun dial off its base in Tibbets Park, according to a police report.
A DPW employee found the sun dial, which is mounted on a large cement cylinder, lying in the bushes. The employee said in the report that it appeared someone intentionally pushed it of the base, causing it to roll down the hill and land in the bushes.
The DPW worker said a similar incident happened a few weeks ago, and that both happened overnight.
If caught, the vandal would face a felony charge for third-degree criminal mischief, police said.
