White Plains Man Charged With Worker's Compensation Fraud

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested a White Plains man on Monday, Oct. 6, for worker’s compensation fraud.

Jose Rivero, 33, was charged with offering false instrument for filing in the first degree and insurance fraud in the third degree, both felonies.

Rivero was accused of unlawfully collecting more than $14,000 worth of benefits while he was employed. A joint investigation conducted by the New York State Worker’s Compensation Board, New York State Insurance Fund and the New York State Police led to Rivero’s arrest.   Rivero was ordered to appear before the City of White Plains Court on Oct. 14.
