White Plains Man Charged With Prescription Drug Possession

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – State police pulled over a White Plains man in Hawthorne for a broken tail light and found two bottles of white powder and stolen prescription pills, according to the New York State Police website.

Iyad Abdullah, 41, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

After officers stopped Abdullah in Hawthorne Friday, they found he was driving with a suspended registration and had two pill bottles that contained white powder believed to be an amphetamine, in addition to Xanax, Methadone, Endocet and Diazepam, police said. The two pill bottles did not belong to Abdullah, and police are waiting on tests to determine what the white powder is, police said.

The 23 Lark Ave. resident has been released, but is due in court Oct. 25.
