White Plains Man Accused of Shoving Girlfriend

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A White Plains man is accused of pushing his girlfriend to the floor when she asked that he leave money for their 1-year-old son, police said.

The woman, 25, had asked Carlos Sanchez, 37, to pack his things and leave Feb. 15 after an argument about another woman, police said. While he was leaving, she asked him to leave money for their son, who was in the room and sleeping. The suspect yelled that he had no money, police said, and allegedly pushed her to the ground.

The woman suffered scratches to the right side of her neck and a burning sensation, she told police. She refused medical assistance. Their son was unharmed. He was later picked up and taken by the woman's mother.

Sanchez was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment, third-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief, all misdemeanors.

The woman told police that Sanchez grabbed her cell phone to stop her from calling the police, resulting in the criminal mischief charge.
