White Plains Man Accused Of Choking Wife In Car

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A White Plains woman told police her husband choked her while they were parked outside a Mobil gas station, according to a police report.

The man, 22, was charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony; and third-degree assault and third-degree menacing, both misdemeanors.

The victim said they were arguing in the car at 417 Mamaroneck Ave. on Sunday, July 8. The argument escalated and it became physical. According to the report, the husband put both hands around her throat and squeezed, and she could not breathe.

When the man went inside the gas station store, the victim, fearful for her life, called the police, who arrested him when they arrived.

Both parties suffered cuts to the face. Neither was taken to a hospital.
