WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A man wanted for violating an order of protection in White Plains was arrested and charged with marijuana possession, police said.
Police responded to a domestic dispute Sunday on South Lexington Avenue. The Bronx resident, 30, was not present, but the mother of his child told police he assaulted her, violating an order of protection, according to the police report.
Police searched the surrounding area but didn't find him. The victim was taken to police headquarters to give a statement. While police took her home, she spotted the suspect on the corner of East Post Road and South Lexington Avenue. Police arrested him in the rear of the Winbrook Housing Complex on 135 S. Lexington Ave.
While searching the suspect at headquarters, police found a clear ziplock bag with what appeared to be marijuana in his pants pocket, the report saids. He was then charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
His baby's mother has not yet pressed charges for violating his order of protection or assault, police said. He is being held on $1,500 bail.
