Westchester Driver Busted With BAC More Than Twice Legal Limit, Police Say

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A Port Chester man was arrested while driving in Mamaroneck with a blood alcohol content more than two times the legal limit over the weekend.

On Tuesday, state police announced that Juan Torres-Castaneda, 24, was arrested on Sunday night after he was stopped on I-95 for a routine traffic violation.

According to police, during the subsequent traffic stop, police determined that Torres-Castaneda was intoxicated. He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the state police barrack in Tarrytown, where his blood-alcohol content was determined to be .18 percent.

Police charged Torres-Castaneda with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated. He was turned over to a sober third party and released on his own recognizance. Torres-Castaneda is due back in the Village of Mamaroneck Court on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
