THORNWOOD, N.Y. – The Mount Pleasant police arrested two men Wednesday in connection with two home burglaries this week.

Lemar Lewis, 18, of Yonkers and Kevin Brown, 20, of White Plains were each charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, a felony. The two men committed a burglary Tuesday at a home on Shelley Avenue in Valhalla and another Wednesday morning on Walter Avenue in Thornwood, Mount Pleasant Police Chief Louis Alagno said.

Alagno said police apprehended the men Wednesday afternoon after being tipped off by a U.S. postal worker near the Walter Avenue home. The tip was that two men were being suspicious while walking through the neighborhood, the chief said.

Alagno said police recovered items stolen from both homes, which included a laptop computer, an iPod, jewelry and cash.

Police are trying to determine whether the two men were involved in other home burglaries that occurred this summer in Mount Pleasant.
