Teens Charged With Smoking Marijuana In White Plains Park

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A pair of teens were arrested Sunday after police said they were smoking marijuana in Tibbits Park.

The two 17-year-olds, one from Purchase and the other from White Plains, were passing a lit, hand-rolled cigarette back and forth between them, according to the police report.

Police smelled a strong odor of burning marijuana as they approached the teens, and found a partially smoked cigarette containing what they believed to be marijuana.

Both were charged with fifth-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and were given an Oct. 11 court date.
