Suspicious Envelope Sent To The Journal News

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - White Plains police said Wednesday that a "suspicious envelope" sent to the Journal News offices contained a white powder that is non-toxic.

White Plains Public Safety Commissioner David Chong said tests showed the substance to be non-toxic, but further tests will continue.

Chong said that any link between the incident and a recent article in the Journal News that published names of those holding a pistol permit and where they live in Westchester and Rockland counties would just be speculation at this point.
