WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — A Rye woman was arrested Thursday and charged with stealing $593.48 worth of merchandise from Sears, police said.
Cindy Marcial, 29, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
Store security told police the Beverly Drive resident took one bottle each of Juicy and JLO cologne and put them in a Macy's shopping bag. Then, the security officer said, she took one workout video, one bean bag toss, two Land’s End shirts, one Joe Boxer sweater and sweat pants and one RB dress, all of which she hid in the same Macy's shopping bag, police said.
Marcial then tried to leave the store without paying, but was stopped by security, police said. She was arrested and held at police headquarters on $500 bail.
Later that day, a White Plains girl, 17, was arrested and charged with petit larceny for allegedly stealing $131.38 worth of cosmetics from Target, police said.
According to the police report, the White Plains High School student took assorted cosmetics from a display and hid them in her handbag. When she tried to leave the store, she was stopped by store security, who held her for police. She was arrested, taken to police headquarters and later released on $250 bail.
