Mohammad Yaffa, 22, called the victim at work and asked her to come outside, police said. When she came outside at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, police said Yaffa yelled at her and accused her of cheating. She told police that she tried to go back into work to avoid the conflict.
The suspect grabbed her arm and said, “I’ll cut you right now,” according to the police report. Police said he had no knife displayed.
Yaffa then grabbed her iPhone and ran away with it, police said. He was picked up by an officer who found the phone in his front right pocket, police said. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree menacing, both misdemeanors.
