Police: White Plains Man Chases Girlfriend Around Apartment

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A White Plains man who believed his girlfriend was cheating on him was charged with attacking her in front of her children, police said.

The victim, 35, told police her boyfriend was drunk after 4 a.m. March 7 and accused her of sleeping around. The argument got heated and the suspect struck her in the head, then chased her around the apartment, police said. He took her cellphone, then tried to drag her into the elevator, police said.

With no phone to call for help, she activated the emergency button in the elevator to notify police, police said. The victim’s children were awake in the South Lexington Avenue apartment during the altercation, police said.

Police found the suspect on 34 E. Post Road and arrested him. He was charged with third-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.
