Police: Drunk Driver Busted With Heroin Possession

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – State police pulled over a White Plains man near Poughkeepsie for traffic violations and found more than 44 ounces of heroin in his car, according to the New York State Police.

Gary Matos, 43, was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor.

State said they police stopped Matos Sept. 14 for committing traffic violations while driving on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of LaGrange. His blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit, police said. At the time of his arrest, police said they found 44 ounces of heroin in his possession.

Matos was arraigned on charges in the Town of LaGrange and sent to the Dutchess County jail without bail.
