Brayan Moscoso Arias of Peaceable Hill Road in Brewster,  a bus driver in the Bedford Central School District, was arrested by Westchester County Police on Friday night and charged with sexual abuse and disseminating indecent material to a minor, both felonies, said Kieran O’Leary, public information officer for the county police.

Arias was held overnight and arraigned today in Mount Kisco Justice Court before Justice Mark F. Farrell.

Bail was set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond. Arias was being held at the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to appear next in village court on Thursday, May 10.

In addition, the judge issued a temporary restraining order that bars Arias from having any contact with the victim.

The arrest came after Westchester County police officers assigned to the Mount Kisco precinct received information that Arias was going to meet the girl Friday night for a sexual encounter, according to O'Leary. Detectives placed the location under surveillance and took Arias into custody when he arrived to meet the girl in a parking lot in the village’s downtown shopping district about 11 p.m., O'Leary said.

Detectives had notified the victim’s mother of the situation earlier that evening and the girl was not present when Arias was arrested.

The crimes Arias was charged with are from incidents that occurred prior to Friday, O'Leary said.
