According to police, they saw Bradley Clymer, 28, standing on the corner of S. Lexington Avenue and Denison Street. He allegedly met another man who handed him an item, then was given an unknown amount of money in return. Police said the second man then walked away at a fast pace through the Winbrook Housing complex toward East Post Road.
Police said they could not locate the second man, but stopped Clymer on Martine Avenue near Court Street. Clymer immediately put his hands in his jacket pocket, police said, and when police told him several times to take his hands out of his pocket for the safety of the officer, he did not.
As a result, police said, they took Clymer's hand out of his pocket and, while doing so, felt a plastic bag. They removed it, police said, revealing a clear plastic zipper bag holding18 smaller bags, all containing what police said believed to be crack cocaine.
Clymer was arrested and charged with third and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was held for a court hearing.
