Police Prevent Suicide Attempt At Ardsley Rest Stop

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Greenburgh police prevented an attempted suicide at an Ardsley rest stop along the New York State Thruway today.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., police from the Town of Woodbury contacted Greenburgh Police Department regarding a missing/endangered person that was possibly in Greenburgh. 

The location of the individual's cell phone was pinged and tracked until he was found in his vehicle by Greenburgh police officers at the Ardsley rest stop. 

The individual was reportedly attempting suicide by inhaling a chemical cleaning compound. He was treated at the scene and transported to Westchester Medical Center. 

His current condition is unknown.
