Passenger In I-684 Crash In North Salem Dies From Injuries

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- A taxi passenger who was critically injured in a two-car crash near Exit 8 on Interstate 684 Friday afternoon has died, according to lohud.com.

As reported in Daily Voice on Friday, troopers on the scene said an SUV taxi was stopped on the shoulder of the roadway, occupied by the driver and one passenger, when a white Nissan Pathfinder, occupied by the driver only, was traveling southbound and struck the rear of the taxi SUV at around 3:15 p.m.

The investigation of the collision caused a lengthy traffic slowdown just as the evening commute was starting.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
