Man Charged With DWI After Head-On Collision On Bear Mountain Bridge Road

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- A 34-year-old Stamford, Conn., man has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a three-car collision that occurred on Bear Mountain Bridge Road on Sunday, police said.

An investigation conducted by police revealed that Wuillian M. Moran was operating a 2005 Chevy Equinox southbound on Bear Mountain Bridge Road when he crossed the double yellow lines and struck a 2008 Suzuki operated by 54-year-old William H. Vonhahsel of New Windsor, New York, head-on.

Moran then collided with a 2009 Toyota operated by 51-year-old Magdalena Sanchez of New Windsor, New York.  Subsequent investigation revealed that Moran was intoxicated at the time of the crash, police said.

Sanchez was transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Moran was also transported to Hudson Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Moran was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Cortlandt Court of Aug. 14.

The State Police were assisted by the Westchester County Police Department.
