WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A man is in custody following an incident in which shots were fired and a victim struck with a car Monday morning near King Street, Greenwich Police told Daily Voice.
Police said there is no further threat to the public arising out of the incident near the Westchester County Airport.
"This is not a random act nor is it a road rage incident," Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said. "The suspect and the intended victim knew one another."
Gray said no one was shot in the incident in which police are still investigating. The suspect vehicle was involved in an accident following the incident at the airport.
“There was contact between the suspect vehicle and the intended victim, causing a non-life threatening injuries” Gray said.
A man is in custody of the Westchester County Police Department, but police didn't release any other details. Gray said they are not seeking additional suspects.
Traffic was diverted near the airport's cell phone parking lot as emergency crews spread sand on a fuel spill. A guard rail was damaged by the wreck.
The county road was reopened by 1: 15 p.m., according to a witness.
