State police have identified the shooting victim of the incident that led to the Tuesday evening hours-long closure of a stretch of northbound I-95 in Mamaroneck while also providing a description of the vehicle involved.

The victim, 24-year-old Mouhamed Cisse of the Bronx, was an occupant in a GMC U-Haul van bearing Arizona license plates with possible right front end damage. (A photo of the van provided by police can be seen above.)

State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information that would be helpful to this investigation to contact (914) 769-2600.

State police released details of the incident that resulted in the hours-long closure of a stretch of northbound I-95 in Westchester that left motorists stranded for hours Tuesday night.

At approximately 5:49 p.m., the state police responded to a reported motor vehicle collision that occurred between Exit 18B and 19.

Troopers arrived on scene and located an adult male who appeared to have suffered serious injuries including gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.

The incident necessitated the closure of I-95 while a lengthy investigation occurred. The lanes were opened around 10 p.m.
