Neither Marraccini nor his lawyer, Andrew Quinn, have said what the investigation is about, lohud.com reports.

The scrutiny comes during a stretch in which Marraccini's department has been credited with a number of high-profile arrests, including the indictment of a 2011 bank robber earlier this week.
