DWI Motorist Drove On Shoulder Of Route 22, Sheriff Says

A Pawling man was arrested for DWI after Putnam County Sheriff's deputies watched him drive on the shoulder of Route 22.

Ryan C. Castle, 31, was arrested around 2:10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, when Deputy Sheriff Ronald Yeager observed a vehicle traveling south on the shoulder of Route 22 in the Town of Southeast, the department said.

After stopping the vehicle, Yeager determined that Castle was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI with a BAC of .12%, and driving on the shoulder, deputies said.

Castle was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Southeast Justice Court for a future court appearance.
