Domestic Dispute Spills Into White Plains Workplace

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A Department of Motor Vehicles employee told police his ex-girlfriend came to his place of work in the White Plains Mall on Friday and jumped over the counter in an attempt to assault him, according to the police report.

Another DMV employee stepped between the two Yonkers residents, stopping the woman, 22, from attacking the victim, 35, who was then taken to an adjacent office, the report said. The ex-girlfriend then ran away. Police think she returned to work at the Westchester Independent Living Center, across the hall from the DMV office in the White Plains Mall, 200 Hamilton Ave.

The victim told police the two had lived together and he was supposed to get his house keys back Wednesday, Aug. 1, but has not. He also has a car registered to him that he said his ex-girlfriend continues to drive. He removed the license plates from the car to turn into the DMV. The told the police he thinks that is why his ex-girlfriend tried to attack him, and he is fearful for his well-being.

The victim was brought into police headquarters to give a statement. While there, the suspect also showed up. She was charged with third-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.
